Setting Up Your Font in FlySolo: A Detailed Guide

In FlySolo, the process begins with inputting your artist and album name, allowing you to customize the display of your screen. We understand that our unique approach, which offers a select range of pre-existing visual options, may initially feel limiting to some users. It could seem as though there aren't enough visual variations that resonate with your individual aesthetic. We sincerely apologize if this approach feels restrictive at first glance, but let us explain our rationale.

FlySolo is designed with a distinct philosophy in mind. We believe that, for a music app, the primary focus should be on the music itself. Extraneous visuals can sometimes distract from the core auditory experience. Thus, we champion a minimalist visual layout so that your audience remains primarily engaged with your musical content. To augment your music, we feel that text-oriented materials are the most appropriate way to narrate your story. This is why our ‘Basic Info’ tab is streamlined to capture only the essential information about you and your musical offerings.

While navigating this section, you'll notice two font selections in the center of your screen: ‘Title Font’ and ‘General Font’.

The ‘Title Font’ carousel offers a variety of elegant choices. As you scroll through, you will initially be greeted by the 'Avenir' font, a staple within the iOS ecosystem. Subsequent options include 'Futura', 'Vollkorn', 'Beckman', 'Peace Sans', 'The Bold Font', 'Vanilla Extract', 'Bebas', 'Cinzel', the default iOS 'San Francisco', and concluding with 'Lexend Deca'. By inputting your artist and album name, you can preview how each font renders. This title font will predominantly represent your artist-album names, song titles, and even article headings if you include a text page. Unless you possess a bespoke logo for your band, we advise opting for one of our provided default font choices.

Similarly, the 'General Font' selection commences with 'Avenir', followed by choices like 'Futura', 'Hoefler', 'Gill Sans', 'San Francisco', and 'Lexend Deca'. Your chosen font here will determine the typography for all textual content within your app. It's paramount that this font complements the 'Title Font' to ensure a harmonious and organized visual presentation.

You also have the liberty to share your custom font by sending us the file, given that you possess the necessary commercial usage rights. However, our in-built options have been curated for their readability, aesthetics, and seamless integration with iOS interfaces. We, therefore, recommend utilizing one of these to ensure optimal display.
